Title: TC with GNU/hurd kernel?
Post by: PDP-8 on March 09, 2018, 04:23:21 AM
I wonder if this is even possible?  (mico/tc/pi/dcore...)

So far as I can tell, there is no usb or wireless yet. (something my ethernet <> wifi dongle would take care of..)

So if any of you dev's out there are looking for the _coolest_ weekend project, here you go... :)

Seems like it might be fun, but as a peon user, I have no idea of what that would involve....

https://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/hurd/status.html

No sound supported.  No USB supported.  So no Wifi dongle.

For me, this would be more about seeing if mating mach to busybox and the TC environment would be beneficial to the kernel ops / hacking.  I might have a go at this:

https://www.debian.org/ports/hurd/hurd-install

No usb - no sweat.  My dongle is universal (Iogear ethernet <> wifi) as it connects directly to the ethernet jack, and not usb.  6 inch ethernet cable to pre-configured wireless box thingy.

So, I've got this on my ToDo list when I feel like getting my Rick Rashid kernal hacker (RIG > Accent > Mach) ... OSF/1 > NeXTSTEP yadda yadda hat on. :)
