Ultibo 2.0 is out with all that VC4 goodness working like you expect in Raspbian and PiCore.
Not only that, there in now an install script for Linux that works in Raspbain.
It won't install in PiCore but it can be copied from Rasbian and apart from some path conflicts it is looking like it just might work.

As the precursor FPC 3.0 works in PiCore, the install script could possibly be modified.
Yes I know Laz/FPC is big and Ultibo just adds to the size but Raspbian is big too and PiCore with X11 is not tiny compared to the headless version .
I would rather develop on PiCore than Rasbian, maybe because I know how PiCore work better than Raspbian 8)
Plus I feel more in control with PiCore, it only has what I want on it.
