For future reference:
You can always find the address for the current TC version and x86 architecture at the top of any page within tinycorelinux's web site
"Welcome | ? FAQ | Downloads | Wiki"
Go to and select "Downloads" located at top of this web page, then
Select "Browse TCZs"
Replace the version and/or architecture with desired version, in your case replace x86 with x86_64

I'm fairly sure that at the root of many problems is the misunderstanding of how to set a tce directory, which is causing so much grief.
Show output of
realpath /etc/sysconfig/tcedir

Need menuBasedNavigation=gpm-root > need V8x > need rtlwifi-4.8.17-tinycore64*
Please stop trying to ape Micro$hit and just give the URL for:
rtlwifi-4.8.17-tinycore64*
PS. working from darkENING Africa/not-California: I use links [not a cartoon-based browser]
and had been hoping that TC would be more like previous/mulinux; ie. giving the "essence"
rather than the current transient fads.

PS. perhaps I'm expected to just NEWLY install TC64V8x ?
So I would then just consult my old/original logs to find the URL/s.
In principle I don't follow the update-fad; which is only justified by hardware technology
advances: like solidstate replacing fd0. WiFi is such a hardware advance.
But imagine how much can break from such an "update".
So far the forced update to 64-bits has been a disaster for me.

I expect folks to use the clearly defined extension install method, Namely;
APPS
tce-ab
tce-load -iw
but you're welcome to choose a method which suites your style, just know that folks can't be expected to switch gears and methods because one person chose the most difficult method of installing extensions. From what I've seen some folks use wget to download extension, but they usually fail to get the required dep file, deps and md5 files, etc etc and make a mess of their install.
Anyhow, even Links has an address bar last I saw..?
the path to "Browse TCZs" given in the address bar is http://tinycorelinux.net/8.x/x86/tcz/
then simply change the version and architecture paths appropriately to suite.
You should come to this conclusion, it's not designed to trick anyone..

Doesn't the DESIGNED method assume a working inet connection to START with?
Anyhow, even Links has an address bar last I saw..?
the path to "Browse TCZs" given in the address bar is http://tinycorelinux.net/8.x/x86/tcz/
=> links gives an alphabetic list:-
8086tiny.tcz
915resolution.tcz
....
rsync.tcz
rtlwifi-4.8.17-tinycore.tcz
...
zvbi-locale.tcz
zvbi.tcz
with no <hotlinks> to proceed; except to <goback>.
then simply change the version and architecture paths appropriately to suite.

Code: [Select]
http://tinycorelinux.net/8.x/x86_64/tcz/rtlwifi-4.8.17-tinycore64.tcz.info
links is good for fetching text or htm* files.
http://tinycorelinux.net/8.x/x86_64/tcz/rtlwifi-4.8.17-tinycore64.tcz
but binaries are [also] written to screen [uncomfortable], although
<save to disk> can select "formatted document" or <as is>.
So by links mc shows: rtlwifi-4.8.1~inycore64.tcz 847872
http://tinycorelinux.net/8.x/x86_64/tcz/rtlwifi-4.8.17-tinycore64.tcz.dep

Well yes, it's more complicated than that:
now I'm in V7x to use WiFi. I only got <trapped> into V8x because of wanting
gpm-root -- which now confirms OK in V8x.
My <syslinuxConfig> has many entries/selections.
I could be messing around, wrongly assuming I'm in V8x or V7x.
I don't like not being able to confirm where I am eg. by: uname -a ==
Linux box 4.2.9-tinycore64 #1999 SMP Mon Jan 18 19:59:34 UTC 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I vaguely remember V8x showed <March> ?
Thanks for the effort.

I'm not sure Links is capable, besides the previous information was given to help find the path to each repo as requested and indicated here
=> Try: wget http://repo.tinycorelinux.net/ = Bad
It's up to you to add the relevant extension file name to the path and use the completed path/filename with an application like wget. Know that if using wget then the responsibility is yours to download all associated files along with the main extension, like *.dep and *.md5.txt files including all files listed within the *.dep file and within their *.dep files recursively.
APPS
tce-ab
tce-load -wi
I corrected a typo here

-> version == 8.0
--------
Avoiding TC's convoluted system to install V8-WiFi *VIA* TC's WiFi was
painfull; never to repeat <upgrading>.
In order to remove the extra unknowns of the GUI, now running under VT only.
------
gpm-root is confirmed and could be useful; but now :
-> tc@box:~$ mc == mc: error while loading shared libraries:
libgmodule-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
-> ls /mnt/sdb1/tce/optional/libgmodule* == nX
=?=> Is libgmodule-2.0.so.0 part of the <GUI> ?
-> find /mnt/sdb2 -name "*Lst*" == /mnt/sdb2/CRG/Hardware/WiFi/TC64V8tczLst
-> grep libgmodule /mnt/sdb2/CRG/Hardware/WiFi/TC64V8tczLst == nX
libgmodule* seems not to be in my stored <list of V8x *.tcz> ?
=> pasteing & posting this via V8x links => WiFi
