Title: opera for NNTP ?
Post by: labeas on April 08, 2017, 03:41:11 AM
Documentation confirms that opera is OK for Newgroups.
When I <menu>: mail -> Newsgroups
the display appears to <lose line sync> in the top left hand corner,
which I can cope with. Perhaps my <Fbufr> is not sufficient for opera,
but it is fine for gmail, which saves me from needing to boot to M$.

For opera-NNTP:
I've confirmed that my setting for: user, server..etc. are recorded in
the /home/tc/.opera-12  DirTree.

My problem is in subscribing to any Group.
Many NNTP clients need the whole [many thousand] group-names to be
downloaded, before any one can be subscribed to; but give a busy
downloading indication.

I don't believe that opera needs to have the full set downloaded.
OTOH I don't see it's equivalent of a /root/.pan2//groups file.

Are there any TC opera NNTP users who can advise me?

== TIA.
