Title: boot don't recognize the boot partition for tce and restore
Post by: Onyarian on December 11, 2008, 08:42:05 AM
Well,
I have a pendrive with tc, tce directory and the backup file. It boots correctly in my AspireOne loading the apps and restoring the backup (with or without boot codes)

But in my desktopPC (P4 Dual core 3,2Ghz) it boots but don't load the apps and don't restore the buckup. If I boot with boot code tinycore tce=sda1 it says:
-----
chown: /tce: No such file or directory
-----
and continue the boot to the desktop without loading apps.

with boot code restore=sda1 it says:
----
Invalid device sda1
Press enter to continue: sd 3:0:0:0: [sda] Assuming drive cahe: write through sd 3:0:0:0: [sda] Assuming drive cache: write through
---
then I press Enter and continue booting to desktop without restore the backup

The same two things with the two boot codes together,  and then I can see that tc,tce and backup are in sda1 and it's not mounted after the boot.

I also tested with a 128CompactFlash and occurs the same. I tested too to boot from CD and the two boot codes to sda1 and then restore the backup but not load apps.
When I boot from DSL it works OK.

needed more tests or outputs?

Try the boot option "tinycore waitusb=8" and see if that helps. ( Or some other number other than 8 like 5 or 6)

ah, yes. I had to do that same thing. TC boots so darn fast!  :)

Now with waitusb=8 is loaded the netcard module automatic, before I have to made it with modprobe e1000
