Title: sce-update messages & policy
Post by: jls on December 13, 2015, 07:05:19 AM
Hi
during sce-update it would be nice to inform the user what the program is doing, and also an immediate update of the lower level (in this way I think there is no need to recheck 2 times the sce contentes/ updates) f.e.
3.sce.dep: 2.sce
2.sce.dep: 1.sce
sce-update 3:
checking 1
(updating 1)
checking 2
(updating 2)
checking 3
(updating 3)

same thing for sce-update -a

Changing the output of sce-update is simple, and we can do.

It seems that if we use the /tmp/work contents of the update session, if there is an update to perform, then using that /tmp/work for sce-import is possible.  May not be the total "pulling up by the roots" of the code that it first seemed to combine sce-import and sce-update.  Just a hidden flag for dCore to use during sce-import that does nothing but use the contents of /tmp/work bypassing the other functions that are usually necessary to obtain the /tmp/work info.  Since the /tmp/work data is created by sce-update.
