Title: libQtScript for TC6.x
Post by: Misalf on July 14, 2015, 07:52:03 AM
Hi,
I'd like to request libQtScript 4.8.6 to be able to build SMPlayer.

Cheers.

Wow, 24 minutes from an extension request to extension posted. That has to be some kind of record.

Hi Misalf. Sorry to bother you, just trying to learn. You're good at compiling, wondering why you requested libQTScript? Is it only available to developers, hard to build?

Since I wasn't sure who is the extension maintainer for Qt4 on TC6 (bmarkus or juanito) I thought I'd ask on the forum. Also since those persons already have experience in building Qt, it might not be a good idea to through my build attempt in the mix.

Further more, it's a huge download through 3G mobile connection
http://tinycorelinux.net/6.x/x86/tcz/src/qt-4.x/
and would probably take years to compile on my netbook. O.o

But the most important reason is that I'm not that good at compiling as you may think. I search the webs a lot trying to solve compiling errors which others "hopefully" already encountered - this makes me lazy at times. q:

I was able to build SMPlayer 14.9.0 svn 7034.
When the next stable is released, I'll submit it to the repo, as I encountered some issues with the current stable but not so with current svn version.

Sorry, i was hurried this morning and meant to click on PM rather than a thread reply. I do appreciate the information Misalf. No need to defend yourself. You're not lazy! Although my opinion doesn't count for much, i do think you're a good compiler. I see it is a rather large package. Even small packages take quite a while to compile on my limited hardware. Take care.

Edit: I would be happy to test drive SMPlayer once it's ready or in the repository. Just installed VLC earlier today but haven't had a change to play with it yet.
