Title: Netcat and udp broadcast
Post by: hseisyu on February 19, 2014, 08:34:54 PM
Hello.

I'm studying networking and using GNS3 (a network simulator) with many instances of Tinycore linux. Tinycore linux is very useful but now I don't know how to send udp broadcast packets. I know netcat is the most common tool to do this, but pre-instelled netcat doesn't seem to support the broadcasting option, and alternative package 'socat' is not listed in the Tinycore extensions.

Does anyone know easy ways to send udp broadcast packets using Tinycore linux?

Your welcome.  By leaving the post, someone else may do a search on netcat and find that socat is available.
