Title: gtk1 and gtk3
Post by: Juanito on December 12, 2013, 11:11:01 PM
gimp and libreoffice posted

There's now a basic set of gtk1 and gtk3 apps in the x86_64 repo for corepure64 5.x

Feedback welcome  :)

First, it goes without saying that you rock. Which is clearly why no one has replied to your post yet.

I've tried out Totem, Rhythmbox, Epiphany here. Thanks for packaging these - certainly all useful. Still lots of testing to do.

Epiphany acts kind of funny for me, though. Every 5th run or so, it won't load pages. It seems to ignore an enter key press from the URL bar. I haven't figured out what's up. It does the same thing on two different computers, identical installations (pure 64 + blah blah blah). Sometimes clearing ~/.cache and ~.config/epiphany helps, but other times not. Ideas welcome.

I updated the family server to corepure64 about 10 days ago and decided to try using only gtk3 apps for a while (apart from aterm, beaver, emelfm and gtkfind).

epiphany seems to work fine for me - I only rebooted the server once in the last 10 days and did not see any errors. Note that to get decent looking fonts I was obliged to load gnome-themes-standard and use 70-no-bitmaps.conf as explained in the arch wiki.

The combination of rhythmbox/totem and grilo-plugins will not find/play a dlna stream in corepure64 (it works in core/core64), but I think this is due to a libsoup bug. libdmapsharing will play an iTunes stream with rhythmbox and grilo-plugins does find apple movie trailers and so on with totem.
