Title: [SOLVED] Xorg-7.7 issues / problems?
Post by: LazyLarry on November 21, 2013, 08:22:16 AM
1. ctl + alt + backspace doesnt kill X server any more? IS there a new way?
2. There is no /etc/X11 directory. The Xorg.0.log file indicates the config directory is /usr/local/share/X11/xorg.conf.d. Should xorg.conf go there?

Thanks

To kill X I do ctrl+alt+F1 then sudo pkill X
I put xorg.conf in /etc/X11

pkill X does the trick nicely. thanks.

so create the X11 directory too?

i did find /root/xorg.conf.new in the log file when i tried sudo X -configure. Should I use this file or create one in X11?

I usually use Xorg confless. In case u need xorg.conf move /root/xorg.conf.new to /etc/X11/xorg.conf
