Title: Mirror picker freezes during initial startup at times
Post by: nassausky on October 31, 2013, 09:33:49 AM
I've been booting lots of times and I will have to keep an eye on exactly which version (whether it was a remastered or original version of 5.02) which always freezes but I believe it's both.  Is anyone else having the problem that mirrorpicker freezes in the middle of finding a mirror and by typing 'pkill mirrorpicker' in a term session it continues to the app browser without a problem and a working mirror?

The default wget timeouts are long, so if a mirror is unresponsive it takes a bit of time for the timeout to kick in. (two minutes if connect fails, 15 minutes if data fails)

We've provided a patch to busybox, and are waiting for a release before we can get shorter timeouts in there.

In the meantime, can you tell which mirror is slow? You should see the wget process in ps output.
