Title: TCE update extension?
Post by: robc on May 20, 2009, 09:24:48 AM
I have noticed that some of the extensions have been updated to newer releases. I noticed this because some of the extensions that I have built required more recent releases of its dependencies, but when I checked the TCE repository the extensions that I had installed were not the same versions that were current in the repository.
What I am asking is if it would be a good idea to have an extension that is similar to the current appbrowser but will download the extensions even if you already have them installed or are present in the optional directory. These updated extensions could go in a different location (i.e. tce/update).
And/or this new application could check the info files to see if there is an updated version and download/install based on the most recent. Though this would require the old info files to be present in the tce or tce/optional directories.

Let me know what you think about this.
