Title: lirc support for Mplayer-nodeps [INCOMPATIBLE]
Post by: tinypoodle on April 03, 2013, 09:43:19 AM
Request for lirc support for Mplayer-nodeps upon next update ("whenever it is ready").

If I understand right that requires lirc to be installed while running 'configure', but does not create a hard runtime dependency:

Checking the Debian mplayer binary:

readelf -d usr/bin/mplayer | grep -i lirc
 0x00000001 (NEEDED)                     Shared library: [liblirc_client.so.0]

Mea culpa, I stand corrected.

Somehow having seen lirc mentioned in startup message of plenty of mplayer versions on plenty of systems where I had not set up lirc led me to draw a wrong conclusion...

"-nodeps" is certainly the wrong target for such then   :-\

Thanks for checking though, appreciated.
