Title: win 8 (ARM and x86) platforms
Post by: cast-fish on November 10, 2012, 07:11:58 AM
Hello

can you help me

I am being told that the new windows 8 has two builds.....ARM of x86 (32/64)

With most all hardware manufacturers making ARM windows 8 tablets...

then these tablets can only run windows 8 RT  (Realtime) .   This RT version
ONLY runs windows 8 METRO APPS from the "Windows APP STORE"
There are only 2000 apps there.......

My question is....How could people compile typical win32 programs example
"photoshop"......to run on ARM.  (will there be a tool to do it...?)

Otherwise.....how would people get the BLUE STACKS tool to run on "ARM win 8 machines?"
BS would need porting.....?   Blue S currenly supports running ALL  the 500 thousand android
apps on x86 windows machines.   (when people root the Blue Stacks)  *simple*

i hope to discover that my thinking is correct. Perhaps MOST consumers will just buy both
platforms?   (i know offices already give the STAFF laptops......don't they)

thanks

Vince.

Huh??

AFAIK that's proprietary software which noone could compile themselves...

hello

sorry  AFAIKA  ?

seems you approach support the allusion to consumers therefor

having to buy 3.

That's two platforms....and the actual 3RD....thing  the apps....

io think google are licensing VIA  "Blue stacks" to say that APPS are indeed
for win32

how thjis can be good for s/w vendors and also consumers.

ideal that is everybody makes out

thx

Vince;.

AFAIK=As Far AS I Know

Photoshop is an Adobe product, source code is not available for it.

Hello

thanks Rich...

my earlier post was littered with misstakes....

hello

sorry  AFAIKA  ?

seems your approach supports the allusion to "consumers therefor having to buy all 3 things"

That means buying the two platforms....and the actual 3RD thing.......the apps themselves....

i know that google are licensing via  "Blue stacks" to say that APPS are indeed
for win32......(the lisence for each "android" app is becoming proprietary for win32....via the Blue Stacks piggyback)

The implications are vast.

This can be good for s/w vendors and also consumers.

The ideal is that everybody makes out...!

thx

Vince;.
