Title: file.tcz licensing
Post by: bmarkus on September 21, 2012, 12:06:37 AM
file.tcz doesn't reproduce COPYING therefore breaks upstream's licensing. Just for the next update.

in terms of copyrights
it can not be violated
if not do it deliberately
for any personal gain

if you still think so then you should seek the advice of any lawyer who deals with copyright protection
or who can explain that is what i quoted highlighting in post #2 is exactly/precisely "reproduce the above copyright notice,
this list of conditions and the following disclaimer in the documentation and/or other materials provided with the distribution"
otherwise how would you could to know it? or you have learned about it from some other source?

Hi AbNoRMiS
If I understand bmarkus correctly, there should be a text file of the license included inside the tcz.

i would like to reiterate that copyright can be violated
if do it deliberately/maliciously to achieve mercenary or other goals
in this case i don't see any copyright infringement
in info-file we have copyrights notice and link to sources
which contains copy of the license without any changes
from legal standpoint this is enough for copyright protection in this case
but if that is not enough for bmarkus then please do what you want

AbNoRmIs

please stop trolling. Case is very simple. Upstream ask to add LICENSE file to binary distribution. That's all. If you are unhappy go to upstream and discuss, but no sense to continue such duscussion here.
