This package is a bear to create, at least how I first went about it,  but I will try to keep it reasonably updated.  May not have the opportunity this or next week though.

Uploading the main package now, changed to using gtk2.scm as a dep for smaller download and simpler packaging.  Will upload the language packs in the coming days.

hi jason,

great that you packaged so soon...
would you mind to package also the german libreoffice-language-package?

thank you for your contributions.

Sure, German will be first on the list.

Uploading German translation now, I have left out the offline help packs with the main package as well as the translations as they are readily available online with the click of the help button and take up a whole lot of space.

Great, I also agree with not including gtk2, I initially did as a result of the gdk-pixbuf2 in gtk2.scm not being compiled with --with -x11, but all is well now.

Ukrainian language on it's way, and I will try for updating the other existing language packs as well today.

Hi Jason!

The libreoffice3.6-de-langpack.scm is the German version, even though the file information says that is the Spanish version. It must be corrected

Can you post the spanish version: libreoffice3.6-es-langpack ?

Thanks!

Done.
Title: Libreoffice 3.6.5
Post by: netnomad on February 08, 2013, 04:26:51 AM
hi jason,

now libreoffice released version 4.0 and started new concepts that are quite different to the openoffice-approach.
for that reason i think that version 3.6.x stays for a certain time the stable platform for most serious users.
i would be happy to find the latest 3.x version in the rep, perhaps the latest actual 3.6.5 :)
in my opinion i don't need the cutting edge for me or in the rep,
but i appreciate a common, most stable and bugfree version.
thank you for your great help for the community in the past,
perhaps you find some time to contribute this packaging in the future.

What is wrong with 4.0? If you do not need it is your personal view. Do not talk on behalf others about repo :-*

hi jason,

just in case you will find some time...  ;)
some platforms like debian will probably stay on the 3.x-branch for a while, too.

That's not an accurate statement, debian offers 4.0.1~rc1-1 for experimental and 3.5.4+dfsg-4 for sid.

Big distroes are just slow and conservative. If something is not in their repo in one week it doesn't mean there is anything wrong.

netnomad -   I do plan to update this one, but it will be when I have a large chunk of time and everything else is caught up, TC wise and other.  I have 4.x scripted to install with one command, and will do that with any updates to 3.x as well as future versions, but that first making is real bear.  I will get to it, just can't say when.

Hi netnomad,
Time is very tight right now and I am focused on another area for the time being.  Of course, anyone is free to create the extension.

Here is the one for 4.0, would need some modification I am sure but gives a general idea what is going on.
