Title: Xorg failure i915 module not found
Post by: magerlab on May 01, 2009, 12:12:35 PM
Hello friends
I finally decide to try out TCL on my desktop ;D along with some puppy linux installations
As i need better screen resolution and also an easiest way to have ru keyborad setup, i decided to install xorg.tce but xorg failed with this error:

i915 module not found.

I thought it's inside the tce( there's even dri module for that card)
so i'm still in xvesa for now....

i use Tcl 2

I think it means the DRM module, which provides 3d acceleration. It's in the graphics-2.6.29.1-tinycore.tcem extension.

..and you will need to "modprobe" the drm module before starting xorg...

i've never had such problems before in puppy or alt linux, so i'm a bit disoriented ;D
ok i 'll try to load drm module and look what happens
anyway to get xorg working i do not need modules for other videocards ?
