dear Arslan S.
could you please update the ati-fglrx up to version 12.6?
-
if he doesn't respond you can try yourself: https://code.google.com/p/tc-ext-tools (https://code.google.com/p/tc-ext-tools)
-
sure i will do it
-
Note that version dropped support for HD2k, HD3k, HD4k cards. So it might be better to create a separate extension instead of updating the current one.
-
12.4 is latest i can test with my hardware, is it ok for you abnormis ? else i will have to create a separate extension
-
yes, thank you Arslan, i tried ati catalyst version 12.4
and it works without any issues with my embedded radeon hd6530d
this will be good solution in order to not create separate versions
-
submitted 12.4 ati drivers
-
Trying to install on HD6310, but ati-fglrx-module-3.0.21-tinycore.tcz is missing from repository
-
Hi Kajuru
Actually, it's not. You neglected to read the info file for ati-fglrx.tcz which states:
2-) Download and install the extension ati-fglrx-kernel-source
(ati license does not permit distribution of kernel module)
Please read the info file for the rest of the directions.
-
Actually I did read it, but couldn't figure it out. Newbie on linux ;D . Thank you.
-
Hi Kajuru
Start by adding blacklist=radeon to the config file of your boot loader. Then restart your machine. When the GUI
comes up, press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, that will kick you out of the GUI and into the console. Now execute the
commands in steps 2 through 8, omit the leading $ sign. If all goes well, step 6 will get you back to your GUI.

Sorry for the delay, I got it working alright, but when closing apps(say, firefox) I can see the screen refresh from top to bottom. Glxgears giving about 300fps, and videos play ok, so I guess I cant complain.
-
you should have 5k-10k fps with glxgears
make sure correct drivers are in use and check the output of fglrxinfo
-
submitted 12.4 ati drivers
thanks Arslan

i decided to make separate topic about ati-fglrx64.tcz
