Title: bootup time on VMware
Post by: blue horse on May 15, 2012, 04:29:11 AM
Host: Windows 7, AMD C-50, 1GHz, 2GB RAM

Guest: TC 4.5.1 on VMware Player 4.2

Boot Code: home=sda1 opt=sda1

Persistence: no backup

Onboot.lst

 Xvesa.tcz
 fltk-1.10.tcz
 opera-11.tcz

 samba3.tcz

Takes about 40-50 seconds to "checking extensions..." and total one minute to boot up.
Is this normal or too long?

A bit too long, assuming you have proper virtualization acceleration. I don't know whether the free VMWare products give you that.

If you boot with "showapps", you can see which extension takes the most time.
