Title: Hdparm sometimes not reporting correct ASCII value
Post by: coreplayer2 on March 02, 2012, 11:33:48 AM
Using tc4.1/4.3.1 etc & hdparm 9.37/9.39

Occasionally probing HDD's using hdparm the information returned has not been translated correctly.   Maybe I'm simply missing a dep or a font or something?

/dev/sdb: drive ϳjßûÓiQCê臬µ„ý´‘›«Ê¶u40é‹•Äø'ð*l

somtimes this
/dev/sdb: drive obtov/lmnizu

Whereas I'm expecting

/dev/sdb: drive PATRIOT USB   (or similar)

Anyone?

I wonder if you are having some hardware corruption issues? That's wierd.

Hi coreplayer2
Looks like a communication problem between hdparm and the hard drive. Is the hard drive spinning down
by any chance? Your subject title is misleading, please change  Apps  to  hdparm  in your original post.
