Title: [4.1] [solved] appbrowser stops when installing package with many dependencies.
Post by: yoshi314 on November 23, 2011, 05:38:11 AM
when trying to install kde4-desktop.tcz appbrowser grabs the tcz and dep and doesn't quite do anything else after that.

installing its dependencies works fine, though. is that due to amount of dependencies involved?

i'd like someone to verify this.

Try "tce-load -iw kde4-desktop".
Look for errors.

Verified that there is absolutely NO problem downloading kde4-desktop.tcz via appbrowser.
Check your local resources. You need much patience, bandwidth, and system resources, But that should be of no surprise if you read the .info file.

i was watching the tce dir as it happened. no new files appeared after first tcz+dep. i was testing it with local fast tce mirror, and on a quite fast network connection (up to ~3MB/s from that particular mirror)

i'll give it a shot today again with cli utility to see what happens.

edit:

it looks like i've hit a circular dependency problem. i'll attach some logs in a minute.

log when running bash -x tce-load -wi kde4-desktop

Think about it. If appbrowser could not handle this extension then what you are saying is that the maker of such never tested or even attempted to use their own extension.

edit: it seems that it actually works, i only have to wait a couple of minutes more than usual.

it really does take a while to parse dependencies in case of kde packages.
