Title: I only have Wireless connection
Post by: chrismt on July 24, 2010, 09:24:39 AM
I cannot install TinyCore because I only have a wireless connection

Since, TinyCore cannot detect my Realtek usb wireless device, I cannot log onto the Internet

Is there a ISO with Wireless support?

There's no iso for this, but if you use the forum search on "realtek" there's several hits - are any of these useful?

I've never done this, but there's a wiki on setting up wireless TC:

http://wiki.tinycorelinux.com/Setting+up+Wifi

Per the wiki, you have to download the ISO and the wireless packages on a computer that can connect to the TC repository, copy them over to the computer you want to install on, and load them there.

Hopefully someone who's actually done this can help.

You are not very specific, but there is a pretty good chance that the wireless-*-tinycore.tcz extension is supporting your radio; e.g. rtl8180.ko.gz or  rtl8187.ko.gz  ;)
