Hello,
reading a bit about xf86-video-modesetting at the moment:
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=search&q=xf86-video-modesetting
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-modesetting/
As far as I can tell, xf86-video-modesetting should be included in xorg-server since xorg-server 1.17.0, see:
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=X.Org-Server-1.17-Released
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTc4NjU
But the 32-bit Tiny Core Linux 6.x repo has a separate xf86-video-modesetting extension, see:
http://repo.tinycorelinux.net/6.x/x86/tcz/xf86-video-modesetting.tcz.info
Why?
Shouldn't it actually be included in the xorg-server extension:
http://repo.tinycorelinux.net/6.x/x86/tcz/xorg-server.tcz.info
?
Regards

xf86-video-modesetting.tcz is still included in the 6.x x86 repo, see:
http://repo.tinycorelinux.net/6.x/x86/tcz/xf86-video-modesetting.tcz.info
Please remove it! That separate extension is outdated.
xf86-video-modesetting is included in xorg-server since version 1.17.0. The 6.x x86 repo does have version 1.17.1. (http://repo.tinycorelinux.net/6.x/x86/tcz/xorg-server.tcz.info)
The xf86-video-modesetting which is built into xorg-server will automatically being used if you do not install xf86-video-intel / xf86-video-ati / xf86-video-nouveau / xf86-video-fbdev / xf86-video-vesa and the likes.
Please remove the xf86-video-modesetting.tcz extension, to make sure that the xf86-video-modesetting which is built into xorg-server will be used.
