installing TCL
« on: June 15, 2011, 12:14:35 AM »
Hello,

please can you give me advice about installing TCL 3.7 into the windows partition?

Does this install process interface with USB keyboards?

Does this type of install then offer a choice of booting TCL or windows
when the machine starts up?

thanks

Vince.

Install in a windows partition

http://wiki.tinycorelinux.net/wiki:install_with_windows

Install in another partition

http://wiki.tinycorelinux.net/wiki:install_hd

All of these methods will enable you to boot both tinycore and windows.
Some info on booting windows with extlinux,

hello

yes.

It does not mention doing any manual bootloader configutations if you are
using the "install TCL to the windows partition" guide.

Does the "install TCL to the windows partition"  allow USB keyboard entry by a user?

Thanks

Vince.

It is done automatically.

Guy

i see....right.

You see, my laptop keyboard is broke and the bios does not have legacy usb keyboard
support. So usb keyboards only kind of work further on in the boot process

thanks

I don't normally use a usb keyboard, but I tried one after you asked the question.

Like you say, it does not work at the boot prompt, but works once tinycore is running.

You can still install tinycore in this situation.

Wait until the cd boots by itself.

Use Control Panel -> Load Starter Pack to load the installer.

Then install tinycore.
