xmms2 "lightened"
« on: May 16, 2011, 09:04:47 AM »
Good day to you =) :-)

Love the CLI and use xmms2 (old console interface).

But it got bogged down after running for a time... so removed the "ET - call home" app from:
 /home/tc/.config/xmms2/startup.d

Now my tip: remove the .cache/xmms2/xmms2d.log.
                      Replace it with a symlink to the null device.

Code: [Select]
$ ln  -s  /dev/null  /home/tc/.cache/xmms2/xmms2d.log
Now all the tracks played don't bloat the top layer of TC's filesytem (loaded into RAM).

Many of you might not care (having many GB of free RAM), but my 512 MB RAM system likes this mod very much :-)

Maybe it's nothing? Might be a tip for you, though.
Enjoy TC and freedom today!
