x not starting (old problem)
« on: November 12, 2010, 05:53:32 AM »
Hello,
I am using tinycore 2.9 because
1 - I experienced 3.2 has further delay at boot (during coloured verbose output it stops and awaits).
2 - it wants to load and backup sda1/tce while there is the "tce=sda6" option.
However the problem with 2.9 is that X does not start and XAUTH message is displayed or none so I have to hit ctrl-z and perform sudo chown -R tc:staff § (§ is another symbol, tilde, now I do not find it on my keyb) and then I have to type startx.
Well, I was said this was caused by a extension conflict but now I load some extensions just after WAITFORX command in .xsession, so why does it not start yet?
Thanks

Wherever you pass your boot parameters to your bootloader.

You should not be loading extensions in .xsession.
