TCLinux for other platforms?
« on: November 12, 2010, 04:12:03 AM »
Hi,

is TCLinux available for other platforms than x86? ARM or MIPS would be cool because these platforms typically do not have much computing power and would benefit greatly from TCLinux.
Kind regards

That's really a pity. Is it planned for future to have support for such platforms? I'd guess it is not so difficult to cross-compile the packages when you already have the whole building-infrastructure (and testing could be done easily with qemu).
Kind regards

@ openapc: I understand the wish, but TinyCore is developed and supported by a fairly small set of people.  TinyCore is great at least in part because this small group is able to move quickly and focus on their priorities and areas of expertise.  The other replies here are curt perhaps because the wish for ARM and/or MIPS comes up fairly frequently, but as far as I know, no one with the proper expertise and attitude in keeping with the Core Team has come forward and offered themselves to help in cross-platform release preparation.  Realistically, it is not so simple to do, especially in a way that would not disrupt the main x-86 releases.

A look at how Slackware - which has a relatively small core developer team as well - handles ports organizationally could let one understand   ;)

Go ahead.

No problem - where can I find the build-infrastructure of TC? I mean not only the sources but really the real infrastructure.
Kind regards
