Change UTC to LOCAL time
« on: November 15, 2009, 10:01:10 PM »
Hi All,
I have Tiny Core 2.5 installed and when it boots it grabs UTC time.
I want it to take the LOCAL time from my computers BIOS.

How do I make this change?

I will greatly appreciate any help you may provide.

See the FAQ.

Hi Jur,
I know when booting from the cd I could (and have) use:

Quote
tinycore noutc

But how does that help me now that it's installed?

Where and how do I make this change (or what ever change will accomplish the same thing).

I want it to take the LOCAL time from my computers BIOS.

If your machine's bios is set to localtime and you don't do anything, tc will essentially set utc=localtime

If your machine's bios is set to utc, then you will need to do something (see the wiki) to get tc to display localtime unless you're in a location where utc=locatime

Thanks.
My BIOS is set to the correct local time.
I had accidentally selected in Tiny Core "Time via internet server" and the time displayed was incorrect.
I manually changed it but when I rebooted the incorrect time had be set in my BIOS.
Now since I don't plan on doing that again and my BIOS once again has the correct time I should be okay.
Thank you for the tip!
