Firefox bookmarks disappear on reboot as does VLC

Hi All,
I just rebooted my computer (I did not select back up) and when Tiny Core rebooted I was missing my newest bookmarks and the fact that I had told Firefox to always use VLC to listen to on-line radio.

What do I have to do to maintain my choices and bookmarks?

It still tells me I need to install Flash despite the fact that I installed Getflash10 using Appbrowser.

Any ideas?

It seems that you have to select back-up when you reboot or shut down.
Please let me know if this is incorrect.

Now to figure out how to add a decent wall paper...

The best way to save settings is to include home=sda1 (or other partition) in the boot menu. It is a good idea to also include opt=sda1 also.

You can use backup, but it may take a long time.

Do you mean to the Grub menu?

My Grub entry for Tiny Core is:

There have been problems with some Linux distros when a partition over sda9 is used. I don't know if this is a problem with Tiny Core or not.

I suggest installing it on a partition with a lower number. Do you have another partition available, with a lower number, to try?

Really?  I haven't heard of this before.
What problems have people been experiencing when using a partition over sda9?

I am currently booting eight distros and will soon be adding a ninth; add one for the Extended partition number and you see that I'm pretty tight for partitions already.
I supposed I could put TCL on another partition, but it would involve an awful lot of work including reinstalling some of the other distros.
And who's to say they might not experience problems too.

Is there any other way solve this problem?

Most Linux distros will work ok in this situation. This is rare.

Tiny Core is frugally installed. Linux distros which are frugally installed can coexist on the same partition as another Linux distro (some can also be installed on FAT32 and coexist with Windows, but this is not ideal, as FAT32 is more prone to corruption).

Just make sure you don't have any files or directories in the base directory with the same name. For example, if you had /boot/bzImage in both, rename bzImage to something else in one of them, and modify the Grub menu appropriately.

/home and /opt may clash. To test it out, you could rename /home and /opt in the existing distro to something else (it will not work then), and test Tiny Core.

When running, the root directory in Tiny Core (and other frugally installed Linux distros) is actually in ram and the swap partition, so it doesn't clash with the root directory of the other distro on the hard drive.

I have created a separate partition just for Tiny Core so there can't be any conflict with another distro's files.
I also have a separate Swap partition which is almost 5Gb in size.
