[SOLVED] wifi connection is suddenly very unreliable
« on: October 17, 2009, 03:43:14 PM »
Since about 2 days ago, my wireless connection is very flaky. It struggles to connect, mostly does not connect on booting, and I have to heve several goes in a terminal to make connection. In text mode it frequently (like every 10 or 20s) scrolls message about packet dropped, removing and renegotiaing keys etc; I wasn't aware of this probelm earlier since it never had any problems connecting on first boot. Almost as if since installing a particular extension it struggles.

How can I begin troubleshooting this problem? Is there a log file somewhere that might give insight?

I find that after the desktop is up and running, I type sudo /opt/wlan0.sh at succeeds. This command nis in the firstboot script file, why wouldn't it work at first? Should I add a sleep command?
