Having problems downloading tiny core iso
« on: April 20, 2010, 03:55:33 PM »
Hi everyone,

I've been looking into small live distros to fit on a usb stick so i still have space for other things. I like the sound of Tiny core Linux but I cant download it and I'm hoping someone here can help.

I can get access to the server but downloading doesn't work. It appears to be trying to setup a FTP transfer and yet isnt using standard FTP ports? ie. 20, 21.

Is there a mirror that uses only HTTP? Or a rule I can add to iptables?

I can provide more info if I need to and any help would appreciated. Thanks.

Many people see what is. Some people see what can be, and make a difference.

Is it possible to fix this forum so it does not automatically put http:// in front of ftp:// links?

Its been put off till some time in the distant future.

random links for testing:

A Brief History of Microsoft FUD
lxer.com/module/newswire/view/57261/index.html

Transforming your Installation into a Live DVD/CD
ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=688872

linuxgazette.net

One of the ftp mirrors:
ftp://ftp.oss.cc.gatech.edu/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/

So yes it is possible just put a bold tag in the url

I cant get a ftp link (that you can click on) to appear in the page without http in it tho.

Final edit: when your typing a message there is an icon with 2 folders (next to the email one) if you highlight your link and click that it should work normally I think. Lets see. ftp://ftp.oss.cc.gatech.edu/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/
