how to connect a serial mouse to TC
« on: July 23, 2009, 06:34:36 AM »
Hi:
Today I discovered that in an old machine  my serial mouse did not work. Cursor frozen. Right after boot.
I still have old PCs with a serial mouse hooked to the RS 232 port. Is there a way to make an old
serial mouse working?

1) temporarily ?
2) permanently?

I think it has something to do with the Xorg

Thank you for your help

Winfred
t(w)o be(ers) or not t(w)o be(ers) that is the question

If you boot Tiny Core with the xsetup option, then you will have presented a Mouse setup screen to choose options for serial mouse. Once a backup/restore is established then this setting will presist.

The mouse type is actually an option to the tinyX server in Tiny Core and can be seen in the file /home/tc/.xsession
