Firefox and other tools do not show up under Apps
« on: June 30, 2020, 11:55:12 PM »
I am trying to install any kind of browser but they don't show up. I have network and internet access. What can I do?

Also: is wiki.tinycorelinux.net reachable? I am getting 'Permission Denied
Sorry, you don't have enough rights to continue.'.

Thank you.

I think you can run
Code: [Select]
tce-load -wi firefox_getLatest.tcz
This command runs and installs firefox latest version and also adds it to onboot.lst so that it gets loaded on every startup.
Else you can use Apps GUI (that grey color icon also with blue color download icon) and click Apps -> Cloud (Remote) -> Browse and then search for "firefox_getLatest" . Donot install firefox ESR as it is outdated.

wiki.tinycorelinux.net has some kind of error and it is not working.

You don't mention which version of tinycore you are using, so it is assumed you are using the 32-bit version of tinycore-11.1.

If you have the gui running you can use the apps gui "tags" function and search on "browser" to get a list of web browsers available for download.

There is a problem with the wiki at the moment, but an alternative is available here: http://wiki.tinycorelinux.net/doku.php?id=welcome

You can also take a look at the faq and tinycore book.
