Nvidia modules version 390.87 submitted for TC-10
« on: July 06, 2019, 09:12:43 AM »
UPDATE

New Nvidia extensions supporting the following Nvidia Graphics Cards have been submitted for TC-10 for Tinycore, Core64 and Corepure64 Repo's

http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/390.87/README/supportedchips.html

In this version
1.  GLX, OpenGL and Cuda support modules have been separated into their own extensions reducing the size of base Kernel modules and basic Xorg driver extension to a manageable size.
2.  A default Xorg config has been added which Xorg should use at initial startup to automatically load the Nvidia modules without the need in most cases to run nvidia-xconfig.
3.  Added nvidia-390.87-4.19.10-tinycore64.tcz extension in x86 Repo supporting basic Kernel and Xorg functionality support for Core64
4.  Added install note (info file) regarding increasing of  "vmalloc=256MB" via Bootcode which likely applies to all 32bit installations

Tinycore (32bit system)
nvidia-390.87-4.19.10-tinycore.tcz  providing Kernel modules and basic Xorg-7.7 support

Core64 (64bit Kernel with 32bit user applications)
nvidia-390.87-4.19.10-tinycore64.tcz  providing x86_64 Kernel modules and basic 32bit Xorg-7.7 support for Core64 installations

+ nvidia-glx-390.87-4.19.10-tinycore.tcz for full 3D accelerated functionality in both of above Tinycore and Core64 installations
+ nvidia-cuda-390.87-4.19.10-tinycore.tcz for Cuda and OpenCL support

Regarding 390.87 version,  discovered a bug which needed squashing, was ugly but not detrimental to driver performance..     I found a patch, however version 390.116 has been released and has fixed the bug, so  have upgraded all 64bit Nvidia extensions with latest legacy driver v390.116

Supporting hardware list
https://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/390.116/README/supportedchips.html

nvidia-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore64.tcz
nvidia-glx-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore64.tcz
nvidia-cuda-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore64.tcz
nvidia-390.116-doc

32 bit and core64 upgrades shortly

All 32bit Nvidia extensions have been updated with latest legacy driver v390.116  posted in the x86 repo

Supporting hardware list
https://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/390.116/README/supportedchips.html

nvidia-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore.tcz
nvidia-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore64.tcz
nvidia-glx-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore.tcz
nvidia-cuda-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore.tcz
nvidia-doc-390.116

nvidia-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore.tcz
can be used alone providing basic kernel and Xorg support
This extension appends the Xorg config file automatically.
Note: 32bit systems will likely need " vmalloc=256MB " bootcode

nvidia-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore64.tcz
can be used alone providing basic 64 bit kernel and 32 bit Xorg support for Core64
This extension appends the Xorg config file automatically.
Note: this extension can not be interchanged with the corepure64 version of the same name from the x86_64 repo!

nvidia-glx-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore.tcz
Provides OpenGL and GLX support
Used if 2D or 3D acceleration required

nvidia-cuda-390.116-4.19.10-tinycore.tcz
For High Performance GPU usage, largely untested...

[EDIT]: Changed  "All 64bit Nvidia"  to  "All 32bit Nvidia".  Rich
