We mention the need to grab the new core elements and that wbar is no longer part of Xprogs.core, but 2.2rc1 is dated 08 July and the core elements are dated 15/21 June?

Oops. so many "elements" to remember.

Xprogs.core.tczl is now posted.

Thanks for the heads up!

EDIT: wbar also posted and announced in the TCE news section.

Maybe I misunderstood the way this should work, but...

booting with the latest Xprogs.core, wbar, flwm in /tce and no backup, I get the following error message during boot:
Code: [Select]
sudo: /usr/bin/desktop.sh: command not found
on "startx" wbar only shows the base icons and the "applications" sub-menu is empty.

New boot option embed to stay on initramfs

i need a pedagogical explanation:

what is it for (speed up boot time? spare place? safer?)

does it change something in practice when one wants to sudo to root, or to use root in order to perform some admin tasks?

i ask blindly because i don't have had time to dwnld it and test it yet (i have experienced a crash disk, and try patiently to recover my files...)

It enables the previous behavior (before 2.1) of using initramfs instead of tmpfs: slightly faster boot, but df doesn't show root free space (the / directory). Using it also drops the RAM requirement back to ~32mb.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Hopefully, this time, I posted the correct Xprogs.core.tczl. Sorry for the confusion.
Tested and working here.

Hi Robert and the rest of the "Team"!

Microcore 2.2 rc1 works just splendid with fluxbox. Good work, keep it up!

Have fun,
