system RESERVED partition?...why...?
« on: July 19, 2018, 11:49:33 AM »
Hello forum members,

Really trying to get to grips with basics of Win10, (without blogging on here)  can't really figure out WHY
it has this..... "system reserved partition".....

I am wondering that it's all done in tandem with the manufacturers at source, such as HP who agree upon licence
etc .....and SO this partition is written first on Factory install.....sort of like a MBR type area of the drive.....but HALF A GIG....?

Never-the-less.....i am wondering about it.

Thx

V

UEFI partition should only be about 100MB. Dell et. al. have "recovery partitions" which are huge. You buy a computer from a big name and they will foist their stuff on you at your expense. You choose to run Windows and you basically give up managing your system. Either go all in with Linux or keep drinking the MS koolaid.

Hello  And,

Well yeah,  Msoft and then as you stated.  Simply trying to show respect with  regard to new hardware and OS
here....and know the basics.

Looks to be extensibly linked to firmware, and as mentioned earlier the reserved part(ns) ....since this is a whole ecosystem
of sorts.

Thx
