connection issue when rdesktop is open

Hello all

So i decided today to place the first tiny core thin client in one of our services outside of our head office today, Unfortunately as soon as rdesktop is loaded my ping increases from around 60 to 500+. I've never noticed this before as we have a dedicated 100mb line in the head office where i work, as for the services they only have a couple of mb's. I know its not the line as the thin clients they currently have running CE,XP and Windows 7 embedded work fine with RDP.

Has anyone have any idea why this may be happening ?
