tomcat running problems
« on: December 12, 2015, 07:33:39 AM »
Dear all
I have some problems running tomcat after making the instal with the Apps manager.

when I try to run : sudo ./startup.sh (in /usr/local/apache-tomcat/bin)

I got first the variables list (CATALINA_BASE, HOME, etc) but the path seems strange (/tmp/tcloop/apache...)

At the end, I got errors messages saying : /tmp/tcploop...... read only file system

I arleady made several installs with the apps managers (Xfe, firefox, apache, ..) all works fine but tomcat still not functionning.

any ideas
many thanks in advance

Thanks for your suggestion

I try to copy the tmp/... directoy in /opt
sudo cp -R /tmp/tcloop/apache-tomcat/usr/local/apache-tomcat .

all works fine, even if I'm not sure that this solution is clean (linux speaking). I don't understand why the apps manager install doesn't work properly. may be a bug ?

anyway my problem is solved.
by the way, tinyCore is a great job
thanks again

You can use the apps gui "selective copy install to file system" as a temporary fix until the extension is adjusted.
