A symposium on the insecure state of the net concluded:
"If the best we've got to date is TOR, we're in trouble."

But for most of us its as good as it gets in the free and ez world
and even ancient TOR is still better (and works pretty darn well)
than any other browser if ENCRYPTING OUTBOUND HTTPS TRAFFIC
OUTSIDE THE X.509 PROTOCOL is your objective.

With that therom stated, I present the TOR solution developed
back in 2010 (I think) running on TC 3x that still had the old
Vidalia proxy method.

I took a TOR gz and unpack it, then call it - I think its start_tor_bundle
or something) and it works every time.

I get ip locations in Greece, Belgium, Antarctica - whatever;
and it works so frgn well Godaddy now sends me all my
emails in German - it permanently confused them...or
something did anyway.

Its also smaller, and tighter than the modern TOR just as
SKYPE also tanked when MS bought that product; and
my old Skype doesn't work anymore...

So I pop open old WINE - an XP emulator - and grab a
more modern Skype - Windows version - and it runs
fine in WINE on 3x TC.

So...yes...I'm a throwback who still uses Peter Norton's
original ne.com (anyone know what ne stands for?)
circa 1986... At 26kb that little editor still outperforms
leafpad and all the rest...though I have to load 16 bit
DOSBOX to get it to fire.

Yes, there are more modern tools.

Yes, I'm sure the TOR version I'm running has holes and
bugs in it.

Yes, someday I will upgrade to 6x or something...
I swear...a lot...every time I try to upgrade
and fail.

But the reality is I don't want to be a watch maker
when it comes to the underlying system foundation;
I just wanna know what time it is, not weld the
teeth on the tiny gears inside the pocket watch.

So - need TOR or modern SKYPE to work with TC?
Smooth as silk in 3x.

...and a whole lot less memory footprint to boot.
