Yes, might be worth a try.
You might have to create and configure /etc/X11/xorg.conf , in order for X to work correctly with your video card. Maybe you can copy the one from PuppyLinux.
Depending on what video card you have, you might also need an extension with the respective video driver (f.e. xf86-video-intel.tcz and maybe graphics-3.8.13.tcz ).
