Resolution problem on SIS-based chips?
« on: January 05, 2014, 01:58:53 AM »
Hi all,

I have installed TinyCore on an old IGEL Thin Client (Igel 132 LX smart). With original firmware it is not able to connect to new Windows systems via RDP, with TinyCore and rdesktop it works perfect.

The thin client is based on a SIS Chip, but when I try to bring the resolution to more than 800x600, it doesn't work. My monitor shows "Out of range", but this is nonsens. There is enough graphic memory for this, too. xconfig shows higher resolutions, too...

Any idea? Thanks a lot!
Sebastian

That is the monitor complaining that it cannot handle the resolution.
Try a different monitor.

Alternatively, try other X servers and drivers.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
