You could try to see what happens if you prevent i2c_viapro, via_agp & agpgart from loading.

Also, if this should happen again, output of
Code: [Select]
cat /proc/sys/kernel/taintedafter it might be of interest.

cat /proc/sys/kernel/tainted     result is 0
by taking OSS away from boot, the issue is gone.

The content of my onboot is now:

Xorg-7.4.tcz
Xprogs.tcz
appbrowser-cli.tcz
flwm_topside.tcz
firmware.tcz
graphics-3.0.21-tinycore.tcz

Now you could do following:

1. Boot with code "syslog"
2. After booting, open a terminal and do
Code: [Select]
tail -f /var/log/messages3. Open another terminal and do
Code: [Select]
tce-load -i OSS.tcz
and see if you get any output.

rather than load OSS have you tried alsa?

Quote
blacklist=snd_usb_audio

You know this means you are (maybe) going to use your internal sound device?
Blacklisting of sound is really designed to block internal as you have the power to not insert your usb etc.
If its usb you prefer, blacklist your internal and leave your usb inserted

let me know what you are trying to achieve and forgive me if you already knew this

ahh a google shows me you have a Ensoniq ES1371, if you have alsa loaded and follow the info or wiki you should be able to
Code: [Select]
sudo modprobe snd-ens1371
lsmod | grep snd

Hi aus9
The issue here is not OSS vs. ALSA. The problem is this:
Code: [Select]
[   40.975675] invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] SMP

I am leaning towards removing most of these starting with printk.time

Hi aus9
It means that one of the instructions fetched does not exist in the instruction set of the CPU.
