[SOLVED] TCZ=submitqc4 creates read only folders
« on: January 17, 2013, 02:23:27 AM »
hi

Its probably me, but when I run submitqc4 (nothing fancy just the basic command) it works as expected do its job checking etc

But it seems to create extra read only folders, then reports multiple errors that it can't remove them

example only
Code: [Select]
rm: cannot remove `libx11-xcb.tcz.tmpdir12345678/usr/local/share/doc/libx11-xcb/COPYING': Read-only file system

chown: changing ownership of `libx11-xcb-doc.tcz.tmpdir12345678': Read-only file system

I always use tmp to create new tczs or upgrade etc.

The work-a-round for me, as I don't always get it right first time,
is to reboot

If I delete the submitqc4 folder and try to delete those temporary folders I can't

If I try to repeat the submitqc4 command without reboot, it then reports I have corrupt tczs
----I may have but I hope you can see where this is going?---no corruption was reported first run

any way of avoiding this?

Are you running submitqc as root?

If not, that would explain the inability to delete directories.
