Emacs would be all the editor/WM you need for lightweight CLI only systems. Could we get it packaged in an SCM?

I have my hands full with fixing, updating, and tweaking the current scms. And especially since I don't use emacs, never have, I don't plan to give it a try, so anyone who would like to go ahead.
