I get the following error when starting ripperX (ripperX can't access cd):

Anyone else encountered this? Happens with both tcz- and scm-version.

I am using ripperx-gtk1.scm with no issue right now.

Today I retested using only the scm version and did not experience the symptoms you report.  Everything works as expected here.  I test using the fewest packages possible (plus JWM) to obtain the "cleanest" environment.

I've fixed it. There was an error in my persistant /etc/group + /etc/gshadow.
